Phytoplankton Photophysiology Utilities: A Python Toolbox for the Standardization of Processing Active Chlorophyll-a Fluorescence Data

The uptake and application of single turnover chlorophyll fluorometers to the study phytoplankton ecosystem status microbial functions has grown considerably in last two decades. However, standardization measurement protocols, processing fluorescence transients quality control derived photosynthetic parameters is still lacking makes community goals large global databases high-quality data unrealistic. We introduce Python package Phytoplankton Photophysiology Utilities (PPU), an adaptable open-source interface between Fast Repetition Rate Fluorescence Induction Relaxation instruments python. PPU includes a variety for loading, from many commercially available instruments. provides user with greater flexibility Kolber-Prasil-Falkowski model; tools plotting, control, correcting instrument biases high-throughput ease; appreciation uncertainties parameters.
